Farmhand's Panjo Plans (PDF Download)
Full plans for the Farmhand’s Panjo by Cumberland Folkie. The 9 page PDF includes detailed drawings, photos, step by step instructions, and materials list. The panjo is a very simple folk instrument that anyone can build. Its has a unique tone and is not difficult to play—even for the beginner. Before building my own, I thought the panjo was mostly a novelty, but it has proven to be a genuine musical instrument. I’ve grown to love my panjo almost as much as my guitars. Check out the build video on my music channel (Cumberland Folkie):
Easy to build and easy to Play!
Strung with 3 medium banjo strings
Fretless design
26” Scale
10” Cake Pan body
Hardwood Neck
Note: I have recently discovered the magic of the KNA Stick on Pickup, a removable acoustic pickup. This device will allow you to play your panjo through an amp, or record through a digital interface. I would recommend the KNA UP-2. You don’t need tools to install. It’s plug and play, and can be used on any acoustic instrument (and moved from one to another).
