Adirondack Canoe Backrest Plans (Fits Solo Pirogue 12 and Most Canoes)

This adjustable, Adirondack style backrest is designed specifically for the Cumberland Rover Solo Pirogue, but may be installed on most canoes/boats with traditional cross-beam seats. Installation requires drilling 2 holes through the existing seat, installing 2 eye straps on the seat (fairleads), and 1 small cleat near the rail of the boat. First the back rest is built, then the mount is installed under the existing seat. The rest is attached to the mount with a single pivot bolt, and finally support stays are rigged.
